I, also, am new to the list. I am researching the Gillespie family who came with the Carr/Kerr family to Augusta Co. from Pennsylvania in the 1740's. I am particularly interested in Matthew Gillespie, his wife and any descendants. By 1759 Matthew was listed in Rowan Co., NC tax lists. I will be happy to exchange any information and would also appreciate any suggestions on where in Augusta County to look for information.
