(Archibald was German descent, not Scotch-Irish. I have much information on the German Reed/Reid line in Rockbridge Co. Earliest settler is Philip Reed who married Mary Taylor in Augusta Co. in 1814. Philip was Widower and Mary was Spinster. (Reed's/Reid's from New York then Berks Co., Pa.) Philip Hall/Hull Philip's daughter Elizabeth married Benjamin Reid, 1813, Rockbridge Co. Family members eventually owned Hull's Mill. Sawyer/Sauer Family (I have Bible Records on two of these ladies) Dice/Theiss family ( I have much information on the Dice/Theiss family. >From Berks & Franklin Co's Pa.)
