To everybody who doesn't already know this: The 1860 Augusta census can be searched online at: http://jefferson.village.Virginia.EDU/vshadow2/govdoc/au.census1860.html Make sure you capitalize the first letter of the name you search for; this search IS case-sensitive. Another tip: after you find your person, make a note of the dwelling & family number of their household. Then return to the search page, clear the name boxes, and type in the dwelling and family numbers in the appropriate boxes at the bottom of the page and search - that will show you everybody in the household, including those with different surnames, which is useful for getting in-laws and children from previous marriages.
