I am trying to locate the possible Will for Henry Goodwin married to Martha Alexander. he is said to have died in Augusta county, Va according to the William and Mary College Quarterly appendix S pages 124 and 125 really have no date of death, but have been told that on Reel 61, the Index to Augusta County Wills, 1745-1903 is available to local libraries . I am looking for someone out there that has done this before and can tell me if it is alphabetical or by year. How is the best way to search for this Will? I am trying to determine where Henry Brew, Jr's. father was born. (Henry Brew, Jr. 24 Sep 1802 to 12 Mar 1882 - born and died in VA). He married Lovinah Murray 26 Sept 1829 Augusta Co., VA. On the 1880 census, Henry Brew, Jr. states that his father was born in Ireland, but I cannot find evidence of this so far. On the 1870 census for Augusta Co., District 2, P.O. Mount Sidney, Henry Brew, Jr's neighbors are mostly Kerr families, namely, Nathanial, William, David, Rebecca, and John (all on the same page of the census). I was just wondering where the Kerrs might have immigrated from - if the families might have known each other before coming to this country. (I'm grasping at straws here!!)
