Many of this family went to WV about 1745 or so. I'll tell you what I get from this census listing. William is head of this family, single, obviously son of Mary J. His sister is Mary E. Earman (nee Faber probably), and the next two are her children. Her husband probably died and she had to move home with her mother. All the dates indicate this. >> Dear Norma- Thanks for your response. I pretty much agree with what you have figured out, but Mary E. Earman being listed as the sister to William Fauber is what really threw me. This is almost too complicated to explain, but......I THOUGHT Mary Earman's maiden name was GEARHART, but unless her mom got married a second time to a FAUBER, Mary having a brother with the surname of Fauber just doesn't work out. Then William would really be a step-brother to Mary and the census doesn't say that. It could be too, that the census taker just got it wrong. Oh brother, I think it's back to the old drawing board for me ! Thanks for trying ! Linda

However, census dates are notoriously incorrect, but I havn't found this to be true in the census records I've found. There are 12 years between the older son and the younger daughter and this isn't unusual either. Women had children for 20-30 years at this time. Somebody else may have a different take on this census records. Have at it! Norma Lsc12147@aol.com wrote: > > Hello all. I have taken the liberty and the time to transcribe the complete index, from a copy I obtained from the Library, into a MS Word document that you can download from my website. This is a complete list, not just the names of some prominent people she did work for. It has all the family names of people she did work for from A to Z plus her other holdings such as compilations, subject files, maps and charts. Here is my website address. http://members.aol.com/th3978/index.html Hope this helps Sincerely Tracy Hunter

Lo and behold, I have Very good reason to believe that I have connection from Henry BERRY, who had children: Henry, John,Thomas, Sarah (married McCloud), Jane (married Jno. Gladen), Margaret (married Smith), Elizabeth (married McClure), and Rebecca, who evidently had a 'bastard child' when she was 20. I'm taking all of this directly from my printed copy of the Chronicals. I have no idea if there were other children, nor who his wife was, for at the time this was written up, she was evidently already dead. Henry Sr. is declared as coming from New Jersey at the time of the Whiskey rebellion. It is his son John that I believe leads to my line of BERRYs. Anyone out there interested in this line, or have anything on it? Any help very much appreciated, and happy to share.
