Hello list . My name is Paula. I am in search of my great great great grandparents. My great great great grandfatherwas Nathaniel McCLOUD born between the years 1780 & 1794 in Rockingham VA. (Not proven) His parents were supposedly from SCOTLAND. Nathaniel married my great great great grandmother Margaret McMAHON born between the years 1780 & 1794 also. She supposedly came over from IRELAND with her family as a young girl. I have no exact birth dates or marriage dates on Nathaniel & Margaret (McMAHON) McCLOUD. I do believe he died on May 2, 1858 in Pocahontas Co. VA now WV I believe they can be found on the 1810 Pendleton Co. VA now WV census listed under CLOUD the prefix was not there (mistake I guess) CLOUD Nathaniel age 16-26 1 female age 16-26 1 male under 10 Old census records seem very hard to dertermine any information. Is there any knowledge to anyone on this list of these to family names McCLOUD (SCOTLAND) and McMAHON (IRELAND) in this bokk. Any help wold be greatly appreciated. I am not hooked to the internet. Thank you Paula paulajune@juno.com ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. (Boston,Suffolk) intention to mary one Mary BUTLER on Dec. 8, 1762. They did not marry in Mass. and from family memories reported at the end of 19th Century seem to have gone south where they did marry (where?). They were known to have had one of their children in Connecticut but trace can not be found in that state of their ever being there. Some reports direct my attention to Augusta Co., VA. They later on settled in Tryon Co. (NY) at the latest in 1778 when they are recorded as tenants of Sir William Johnson in Kingsland (Philadelphia Bush near Johnstown to be more precise and to be completely accurate as neighbours to one Michael Carman); after being part of the Loyalist resistance and having been in jail at least twice (once in Johnstown and once in Albany), they fled in February 1782 to Montreal, Canada and from there in 1784 to the Gaspé Coast of Quebec where their descendants still live to this day. Any information welcome. Will share more info on descendants in return. Carmen, Can anyone tell me if anyone on the list is getting their copy(ies) of the Augusta County History? I ordered a copy and haven't received it and just wanted to know if the Historical Society or the publisher has sent these books out yet. They were originally due to be published in May 1998. Thanks, Dallas Reese 7413 Quail Ridge Drive Charlotte, NC 28226

This may be of interest to anyone with ancestors from Berks Co., PA or any who passed through... A new book has been published by the Berks Co. Assn. For Graveyard Preservation (BCAGGP) concerning the old family graveyards that have been located in Berks County Pennsylvania. Promotional material says the book contains pictures, maps, descriptions etc. of indexed graves. For more information, see the BCAGP homepage at: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/3005/graves.html Scroll down to the book entitled "EPITAPHS" and "Click for a Sample." A copy has been donated to the library of the Historical Society of Berks County, at which place the compilation may be inspected. I have absolutely no financial interest in this book, although I do maintain the BCAGP web page. The sole purpose of this messsage is to publicize what looks like a useful tool for genealogical research on early Pennsylvania families. Larry
