I just saw your message that came across this list and thought that you might be interested to know that on my Mason Co., WV genweb site, I have a portion dealing with the Battle of Pt. Pleasant. It lists the men who took part in this and among them is a man by the name of FROG. He was a Sutler killed, I believe. The great majority of these men came from around this area of VA. For the rest of you researching this area, it may be of interest to you to check this site out too. I am hoping to be able to fill in all of the blanks still in some of the soldiers names, so any info would be appreciated. Just click on the Mason Co., site below.... Let me know if any of you find an ancestor. Thank you so very much for posting this list!! I have many, many ancestors listed in it. Have you ever ran across any of the German settlers. I am particularly trying to locate anything on the Kinzer/Kincer, & any of the variants. I see that this list included some of my Millers, Vances, Campbells, and more. Thanks again!! Thanks Mark for your help! That must have been a real strain on the eyes!! Linda
Well here it is. I decided to finish it tonight since I was almost done. I hope that you find it useful. The following list comes from the Map of the Beverley Patent (1736) by J.R. Hildebrand (1954) I entered this data from four sectioned map located at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~vaaugust/augusta2.html I have entered the data to the best of my ability, but the files are difficult to read. Actually, I am working on typing in that list. I am almost complete. There are some names I can't read, so anyone who can help fill in the gaps will be a big help. When I am done, I'll post a text version here. I'll send it to the GenWeb as well so it will stay around a while. Talk to you later, Mark << >Is there a list of the people who bought tracts in the Beverley Manor? >I have seen the maps but cannot read the names. Library of Congress Catalogue No. is 54-11987 and was printed by McClure Press in Verona, Virginia. There is a fold out map in the back of the book designated as "The Beverly Patent 1736 including original grantees 1738 - 1815 in Orange and Augusta Counties, VA. This map was compiled and drawn by J. R. Hildebrand in 1954. In the past year I have given the Fisherville address to several people and they have advised me the book is no longer in print. However, if you find it in a garage sale, book store - don't fail to buy it. You might even try advertising for it - believe Amazon Books is the one that has where you can list "wanted" and "for sale" books. I will try to honor requests for looking up on the map your surnames and the date given when they got the grant; however, to copy all the info that might be in the book about them is overwhelming as it is scattered throughout the book and not in a "family chapter" sequence. Will help all I can. Jean L. Robinson
