    3. Sue, Yes, I have a set of Chalkley's and I pour through them almost every evening, I love those books, best investment I ever made. The George Glenn and James Young you mentioned are my 6th & 7th great grandfathers. I have Nancy Agnes married to Wert Miller, Nancy Agnes was a sister of my William Glenn, I don't have anything else on either Nancy Agnes or Wert other than getting their names out of Chalkley's (will of George Vol III page 243) Please keep me in mind and I will do the same, should I find more on them. 2. Dave McGraw
    3. Hello: I am researching Thomas ASKINS, born in VA ca. 1767. Seeking parents data. Married ca. 1800 to Sarah (LNU) "Sally", born ca 1778 maybe all in Augusta County, VA. Thomas ASKINS died in Pulaski Co. VA btw. 1850 & 1860. Sarah died Pulaski Co. Va. 18 Dec 1861. Thomas ASKINS Children seem to be born in Augusta & Botetourt Co's. in VA., and married in Montgomery Co. VA. lived in Pulaski Co. Va. maybe all without moving ? Thomas seem to be close to a John ASKINS who died in Augusta Co. and left a will dated 4 Apr 1801. He left 20 acres to Miss. Darby HALBERT and the balance to his brother Philemon "Philip" oldest son. This oldest so seen to be Edward ASKINS of Kentucky. Thomas ASKINS later was surety to the marriage of Samuel Coffee to Abigail HOLBART 29 Jun 1819 and to John Myers to Darcus HOBERT 18 Oct 1819 in Montgomery Co. Va. These could be the daughters of Darby HALBERT and maybe John ASKINS ? I need to find out the connection between John ASKINS; Darby HALBERT; and Thomas ASKINS. Any and all help will be deeply appreciated. Thank you, Dave McGraw, Louisa, Ky.

    3. My families are: James Leeper, proved importation for self, wife & children Feb 28, 1739 in Orange Co. VA. Had survey of lands May 13, 1738 in what would be present Augusta Co. He lived in Beverly Manor then moved north. He died prior to June 21, 1763 when his wife Margaret returned an inventory for his estate. His children married into the Seawright, Henderson, Thompson?, Brown, Curry, Henderson and McMillan families. He probably came through PA shortly before he arrived in Augusta Co. area. Andrew Kincaid, wife Mary. Time of arrival in Augusta Co. unknown but is connected to Kincaids arriving from PA (probably Lancastor Co) in the 1740's. He 1st surfaces in Albemarle Co. in the 1760's. He was probably born in the early 1730's. He died 1810 in Greenbrier Co. Sue in Newport

    3. Hi Maggie - Close, but that is one generation earlier than my John Gray, b. 1784 who married Monroe Co., VA(WV) to Susannah Thompson, daughter of James & Temperance 'Tempe' (Mooney) Thompson, who all came to Ohio ca 1816. My John died in 1855, and is buried at Watkins, Millcreek Twp., Union Co., OH. Possibly same clan though as the family you cite. I have a list of many John Gray's, born ca 1780-1790 from PA, VA, WV & OH but none fit. Thanks anyway. 3. I am interested in your Glenn (Young?) connections. Chalkley has 2 wills that intrigue me. James Young's 16 Nov 1790 will and George Glenn's 1801 will. George is the son-in-law of James Young. Between the 2 wills it can be determined that George's children were: Agnes m West Miller, James, William, Sarah m Rbt. Young, Martha, Hugh, Nancy , Mary m Sam Curry. West Miller shows up in Greenbrier Co. VA He may be related to my James/Elizabeth Kincaid Miller. There is also a William Young with daughter Nancy who marries a John Kincaid in the same region as West Miller. There are also some Glenns there. The above Kincaid and Miller families move to Campbell Co. TN where they live and intermarry with another Glenn family (no known relationship to the Glenn families of Augusta, Albemarle or Grbr Co.s) Sue in Newport > > I am having a little small problem proving that James Glenn was the son of > William Glenn. I would like to know about the famiy of Philip Melanchton Crickenberger who married Charlott Tempel Shiflett in Jan. 1876. They were from Augusta Co.
