Thanks to all of you for your suggestions for my recent trip to Amherst. The Historical Museum was terrific and the people so nice. The library in Lynchburg was very helpful, also. I am afraid I did not find my ancestor, John Henry Ricketts, but I will keep plugging away! Thanks so much for all the tips - it is a lovely area of VA., especially this time of year.
