Although I will review the marriage bond the next time I return to Amherst court house, I suspect that the consent was given by "Caty or Catherine" Campbell, wife of George Campbell and mother of Mary Campbell - instead of Catron Cammel. The John Cartwright that provided surety was married to Margaret Patterson, an obvious relative to Alexander Patterson that married this Mary Campbell.
