I was in Bedford County (next door) in September -- a couple of people, plus a rep from the library in Lynchburg told me about their library -- it sounds very impressive - I have not had a chance to follow through myself, but some of my ancestors went to Bedford from Amherst they might make a broader search easier. http://www.jmlibrary.org/ Maggie Hodge
