My mom had a sister, Julie, who married Zander (Alexander!) Floyd. I recently had a visit from one of her grandchildren who supplied me with pictures and obits for the family which I was missing. She also showed up at our reunion with her sister! I don't know a lot about the Floyd family but I am a Lawhorne/Lawhorn/Laugharne from Amherst County and I am related to many Statons and Tomlins so we may have a connection.
