    3. Hi Betty Mary Box Lived right beside William Hatcher the Immigrant born 1613, who I also descend from. I also Descend from Col. Arthur Allen and wife ? Tucker of Bacon's Castle: Which have a Robert Jonson-Johnson connected to them. The Box lines in Humphreys and Williamson County Tn. descend from this Col. Arhtur Allen and wife. ? Tucker ( I am going from memory right now with names to expidite by replies.) Just a Note on Dawson- Dodson- Dotson, Dods , this name was recorded as it was sounded out by the County register who could have been English, Irsih, Scottish, German or Dutch. I can send you a Copy of or Johnson surname research for Amherst County to view. if you can give me the name of the Dawson that you are researching and a time period. I will see what we can do. Reason the Dodson-Dotson and some times recorded as Dawson connect to MY Johnson researchers of Hudson Johnson of Henry Co. Va. 1776- 1780; Then into Washington County 1782 to 1801, this lands goes into Green County Tn, then To Sullivan County Tn to present day Hawkins County Tn.: in 1801 he goes into what was then Williamson County Tn. He he in 1803 buys lands on Bartons Creek in Stewart County which in days becomes Dickson Co. Tn. Hudson Johnson and wife Agness son John Johnson died 1835 is married to an Anne born 1770 in Virginia she is the Aunt to numerous Dodson's in Humphreys County in 1850 era. In 1850 She has her neice a ? Dodson living on her property with a ? Burgess in the house born in 1772. I am stuck on my John B. Patrick Line married to Mary "Polly" Hudson b 1812 in what was then Sumner Co. Tn. John B. Patrick was born in 1805 NC per 1850 Census of Humphreys Co. Tn, but a Goodspeed History of Humphreys County Tn written in 1880 by his Grandson has him from Natchez Mississippi. WEll what is intersting is Adam Brevard Hudson lived in Sumner County Tn with his brother John Hudson. Adam B. Hudson lost his lands in a Law suit to another of his Cousin's. He Moved to the area of Natches Miss. where he died after 1830. This is who I beleive is the Father of Mary Hudson married to John B.Patrick who lived by the Box, Ezekeil Hudson (of Box Iron Maryland and a acousin to Adam B. Hudson). I do know John B. Patrick had a brother James Henderson Patrick. who also went by Henderson Patrick. They arrived in 1825-1830 in Humphreys County Tn, from unknown where and built a home in ? City in Humphreys County Tn. Johnston and Wake County is very intersting to be, reason General James Randolph Robertson a William Hatcher decendant is the Founder of the Washugual Settlements. who lived on Barton's Creek in Dickson County Tn. by my Hudson Johnson-Johnston and wife Agness. Hudson Johnston in 1782 bought his lands from Stockley Donelson son of Col. John Donelson the Co Founder of the Washugual Settlement with General James Randolph Robertson General James Randolph Robertson is widely associated with families in Wake County and Johnston Co. NC and his Father John Robinson- Robertson is assoicated with families in Warren County NC which was also in Butte Co. NC. Before that he is in lands in era of 1720 Prince George that become Brunswick County Va. thanks Tony PLease contact me at [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> and I will send you files on the James Randolph Robertson and on the Johnson familiess of Amherst County you might find a few clues in them on Dawson, also send me the info on the Dawson and the time era and I will see if anything crosses in our files ----- Original Message ----- From: Betty Stokes<mailto:[email protected]> To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, May 17, 2006 4:22 PM Subject: RE: [VAAMHERS] Fw: Yours to me Box is an allied line and Patrick and Allen are direct lines. I have 1 direct Johnson line in North Carolina - probably Surry - down to Indiana and one Allied line in Georgia. None of these are documented back to Virginia, but it is likely. I also research Craven, Johnston, Wake Counties, NC. I'm really researching Goochland Co., VA and trying to eliminate some Dawsons in Amherst. They have sent in lots of information in on these folks to me for placement. I am the nominated Librarian for several Johnson-Johnston-Jonson research groups, who are sharing all the information on our cross relatives. All we ask is the person who submitted the information you use be accredited for it. We also ask that if you find ANY mention of the surnames Johnson-Johnston-Johnstone-Jonson etc. in Virginia before 1840, that you document it and send it to me for placing in the research files. Which I have sent you several of involving Ballinger and Wade families with our Johnson- Matlock- Metlock-Madlock discussions. Again informtion tha you provide will be acrredited to you and your research. Also we are starting documented files in 1840 and before for North Carolina counties of Vance, Warren, Butte, Oragne, Rockingham, Granville and split counties for Variations of the Jonson- Johnson surname.
