NOW I wonder just how SWEAT Drenched Memories this will bring Back from the Boys & YA GOTTA remember those Great Fried Chicken & All of those Fresh Vegetables that Grand Ma & the Neighbor Women had fixed for Dinner, <WELL THEN IT WAS the Meal in the Middle of the Day, the one after Breakfast, Then some times there was more than one Farmer that Stacked Together, & every one SWAPPED labor, I remember one such Operation in Amherst County Va, A man by the Name of GLUNT Owned the Threshing Machine & it was Powered by What was Called a Horse Power, There were a Group of Wooden Toungs with one end Fastened to a Metal Frame, <ABT 6 of them> Hook a horse to the other end the horses would Walk around in a circle turning the Part similar to the Ring Gear in the rear of a car that Ring Gear meshed into A Cog Wheel That was Fastened to a Long Shaft That had a Pulley Wheel With a Belt That went to the Threshing Machine. MR. Glunt Made his Last Threshing in 1931 up Peters Hollow BY Bear Mountain, Something Happened to the Machine on the way out of the Hollow, THE machine Sit on my Daddys Farm until Holloween & __??     2. AT powelljr you do my heart good. I am a 46 year old man who is IN LOVE w/ the history in Amherst Co and farming there. My dad grew up there. We were harris and Pleasants.
