Thanks for the hint. At the time I was reponding to the specfic email and was not thinking of the general 'cast you net to see what you reap' approach. My suggestion is that any one should search out ther family surname and find/join or start a Family Tree surname project. I have done my own Hamilton surname and have also sponsered my mother's surname (via a great uncle - the oledest knwon living male). In a sponorship, you provide the funding and the male relative provides the DNA. Both get the DNA results and matches from Family Tree, provided that the correct release forms are returned with the DNA sample.
