Hi, Tony. Yes, I am aware our Ballengers touch on your Johnson/Matlock lines; I have gratefully downloaded most of the land records which you have posted, and I believe you give credit for some of that to a Linda Starr? Many thanks to both of you. Anything you have related to the Ballengers would be most welcome, and perhaps you might have something on their associated family WADE, bros Pearce and Jeremiah marrying two of the Rev. Joseph Ballenger Sr's daughters in Goochland Co, Pearce ending up in Amherst. Do you know the present location of Ballenger's Mountain? There are still two Ballenger's Creeks on modern maps, one coming from the NW into the James River at Warren near Scottsville, and the other (Apparently originally Bird/Bryd's Creek) flowing into the Rivanna River (or 'north fork of James') just below Palmyra in present day Fluvanna, in Goochland in 1729 land record for Joseph Sr. Thanks for your response to our postings, although I don't think Brenda has ties to the Ballengers. Yes we do, have a little info on these Ballingers: Nancy B, is one of these descendants ( I think) or is closely connected to the Wades in our Johnson=Johnston- Jonson etc discussions. From Memeory he is also listed as Pierce Wade I am sending Nancy a CC to her as this is her Lines. I will send you all our Numerous Researches info on Johnson files that have a mention of a Ballinger or Ballenger in them. Amherst is a multi division County with some of its Starts in Goochland County tell 1735 era. some of its lands is found in Orange County Deeds ( Rockfish Gap and Rock Fish River). Also Of Note what was Amherst County changes in 1810 and becomes Nelson Co. Also Remember these folks traveled as a Clan until after the Civil War in 1865. I have 7 lines on Byrd Creek and Little Byrd Creek which also connects to the drainage of Tuckahoe Creek, where we finf the DNA that I match of Michael Johnson died 1718. These 7 Families can be found in 1930 on Hurricane Creek of Humphreys County Tn still inter marrying each other. ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Sent: Monday, May 15, 2006 1:05 AM Subject: [VAAMHERS] subj change from BURKS to PEARCE and BALLENGER Hi, Tony.
