    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BAC.2ACE/1029.1.2.2.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Dear Joyce, Turkey Mountain Road (Va State Route 610) runs about aix miles from the west side of Clifford, VA in a westerly direction. Approximately 3 miles west of Clifford, on the north side of Turkey Mountain Road lies Turkey Mountain itself (not a large mountain, but more of a low rise of land). Joshua (3) HUDSON acquired most of the land running from the top of Turkey Mountain, down the south side, and across Turkey Mountain Road. At his death (1799-1801), he was a widower, and through his will required the sale disposal of nearly all of the land. His son, Rush (4) Sr, purchased a portion of it and one or more sons may have purchased small parcels (not clear). At present none of the land coming down the side of Turkey Mountain is owned by HUDSONs. One farm on the south side of Turkey Mountain Road is still within the HUDSON family, but all of its rrmaining structures were built since about 1890. The Shelton HUDSON Cemetery where there are four marked stones and 60-70 unmarked broke! n field stones) lies at 79 deg.-4 min-5 sec. west Longitude, and 37 deg.-39 min.-6 sec. north latitude.on private property, and access is by permission only. The HUDSONs who gather each August for a reunion at Clifford are able to visit and maintain the old cemetery. Other than the cemetery itself, there are no other sites or structures extant from before the late 1890s. I hope that this helps you in our research. Sincerely, John W. Hudson Genealogy Director & Corresponding Secretary HUDSON Family Association
