    3. Hi Fern, Ancestry provides a description of their databases on their site. The "Census of Pensioners" is one of two Chapters (the other is "Index to States") for the "Revolutionary War Pensioner Census, 1841" Database. According to the description given, the database is simply a compilation of the data on the Revolutionary War pensioners gathered from the 1840 census returns. (Census takers that year obtained the names and ages of the individuals in each household who served in the Revolutionary War or provided other miliitary services.) So, the bottom line is that there is no publication called "Census of Pensioners" that you can buy. You simply have to find the 1840 census pages for your ancestors and it will show on the census page the information provided in the ancestry database.
