    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Phillips, Hughes, Napier, Bryant, Powell, Bailey, White, Goolsby, Harris and Roberts Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BAC.2ACE/1401 Message Board Post: To The Board of Amherst County: I am participating in a Project with a volunteer group of researchers to find documented male descendants of all the original male Phillips immigrants to the New World Our research shows the following men on the 1790 reconstructed census for Amherst County, Virginia: Matthew Phillips, Leonard Phillips, Jr., William Phillips (2), Leonard Phillips (Sr.), David Phillips, Zacharias Phillips, John Phillips (2). George Phillips, and Jacob Phillips. I am a descendant of most of the Phillips shown above. Our volunteer researchers are hoping to find information on other descendants of these men using both DNA testing and traditional research. My brother participated in this project and confirmed that Matthew and Zacharias Phillips were either brothers or close cousins. We believe Leonard Phillips, Sr., was Matthew's father and William Phillips was Matthew Phillips' great grandfather (Matthew Phillips is my 3x great grandfather). Rootsweb has a policy of moving messages with topics like DNA to a special forum. Therefore, we hope you will visit this forum to review a new announcement of the DNA Project for descendants of Phillips immigrants. This is the link for that forum: <http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=topics.dnaresearch.projectannouncements> or you can get to the DNA forum by going to Rootsweb>Topics>Browse Topics> DNA Research. This new forum is the place to go for more information on DNA. Thank you for taking the time to read this message, and we hope you will visit the DNA Topic site for more information. Sincerely, Virginia Phillips-Smith
