I haven't run across Edward yet but I do have Gilberts in my family and I'm now in contact with another Clements in Maine who is also connected. Sometimes I'm sure that I'm related to everybody who ever lived in Amherst! My dad's Uncle Paul married Nancy Gilbert and there was yet another Nancy Gilbert who married Jesse Clements, JR. who is related to me and also to my dad and that cousin in Maine! I also have a Gilbert who is married to my brother. I haven't gotten around to tracing that outlying area yet but I'll bet her family eventually goes back to Amherst also! There are a number of Gilberts listed in the Amherst cemetary records including an Edward J. and Elizabeth Coffey Gilbert. Could any of this be relevant? There was a Drumheller who worked with my dad at the mill and dad's sister married his son. I have a sister who married a Drumheller and I'll bet if I look further into that I'll find these relate to those in Amherst!. I'm also related to Ann Wilmer and A.T. Powell and I think you've already been contacted by them. Some of the Wilmer-Lawhorne grandchildren still come to reunions so I know them. My mom's family married into the Wilmer family.
