    3. Linda Hi and Thank you for the info I have not had time yet to look at much of anything for last 3 weeks I have been working 52 to 60 hours a week, I am dead tired. DNA Yes I had my DNA down I match to Harold Johnson the co ordinator of the Johnson- Johnston-Jonson-Johnstone DNA Project. It is unknown where my Hudson Johnson is, all we can say for sure is Hudson Johnson lines are a cousin line to Michael Johnson who died in 1718 on Tuckahoe Creek in Henrico Co. Va. I am working with numerous clues (mostly neighbors) of My Hudson Johnson b 1740-1750 died 1828 on Bartons Creek in Dickson Co. His wife is Agnes who died in 1848 in Dickson Co. Tn. Hudson Johnson is first found in Henry County Tithe List with the Combes Familes. We know that in 1778 He lived with one James Johnson, in 1780 with William Johnson. ( See Sombes research site) In 1785 Henry County Tithes William Johnson lived by Rowland Chiles a Descendant of Walter Chiles Ship Owner era of 1620 of early Virginia. The Chile (Childs) Families, Joseph Johnson and Michael Holland were given large land grants in what was then Amelia County. Michael Holland is the Neighbor of Michael Johnson of Tuckahoe Creek. These people lived on Buffao Creek and owned properties on Gladeys Fork. The first Johnson on Buffalo Creek is Benjamin Johnson in 1775 era the Land was in Halifax County on the Border. Then he buys more lands on this Creek deeds are registered in Bedford County and then in Lunenburg County Michael Holland was born in Nansemond County Va. Now what is more interesting is tracing Sarah Watson daughter of Alice ? Married first to Henry Rowen, then to John Watson. Notes: Michael Holland, some of the lands he was granted is on saylors Creek in Amelia County this land is on the Prince Edward and Amelia County Borders. Ashley Johnson is the first to buy these lands from the heirs of Michael Holland. Also on Saylors Creek is one Gideon Johnson son of Benjamin Johnson. and one Charles Johnson ( era of 1740) of St Pauls Parish who buys lands from the brother of Elizabeth Hutchenson Johnson of Charlotte Co. Gideon Johnson sells his lands to his brother Jesse Johnson and moves to what is then Granville Co. NC. Researcher Mary Holland in our Group descends from ths Gideon Johnsn whose family goes into are of Salisbury District of NC. Gideon Johnson Jr. is found in Rockingham Co. in 1790 by the Shropshire Families off Rev. St. John Shropshire who is the Anglican Minister for the Church of England in 1702. Well Joel Shropshire is married to the daughter of Hudson Johnson and Agness Johnson. Also living by the Shroshire families is several Patric! k familes LOL (I descend from a John Patrick and Mary Hudson b 1813 in Sumner Co. Tn John Patrick died in Humphreys Co. Tn) This is a Brick Wall but more clues are un folding. Also of interest is Ashley Johnson is mentined in the research of Gideon Johnson unknown at this time if this connects to AShley Johnson of Amelia County Saylors Creek Joel Shropshires family is found on Rockfish Creek in deeds in several Counties. Low and beyold. Terisha Turner the Ancient lived on Rockfish Creek, he signed the will of one John Sorrell, who was the neighbor of one Michael Johnson descendants of Tuckahoe creek. John Sorrell also lived by one Charles Johnson. OH yes on Rockfish River is one Stephen Johnson era of 1740 who appears to be off the Lines of one William Johnson of Middlesex County Va. and a ? Page Marriage. This William Johnson lands can be traced back to William Johnson 1630 Era of Pagan Creek Settlement, settled by the Bennett Families and Dr. John Lawson married to Sarah Rowland whose cousin line is married to one of Walter Chiles off spring. I also descend from this line of Bennetts of Virginia and of Maryland Notes the Reeves-Rives and Turner and Robertson's are Related off George Rives " The Trader" of 1660 Colonial Virginia. Sarah Eaton daughter of William Eaton (Era of 1740) was married to one John Thornton off the Lines of William Thornton the Immigrant. She re married in Granville Co. NC to one Charles Johnson ( whose off spring in 1812 are in Humphreys County Tn tax Lists). This land area where they lived becomes Butte Co NC then to Warren Co. NC and to Vance Co. NC. Charles and Sarah Johnson's two known children ( William and Hugh Johnson)are in deeds associated with lands on Nutbush Creek era of 1803. John Thornton's fore father lines are tied to the lines of the Ball families of Colonial Va they are also a neighbor of one William Basetts family who is found in 1702 St.Peters register near one Edward Johnson of 1680 Powhite Swamp. And his Families are neighbors to the Rev. St. john Shropshire whose widow re married ??? Stonehouse, who I beeive is one Thomas Stonehouse. These lands go into Orange Co.to Spotsylvania County to Culpepper Co. Va Oh Yes Ball families are another of General Georg! e Washigton's fore father ( LOL In Laws to me I GUESS) General George Washgton does have an Uncle that is a ? Johnson and two Aunts that were Johnson's, as his Grandmother (Montague) was married 3 times. First to a Payne whose father Ralph Payne was the neighbor Of Peter Montague of Pagan Creek Settlement, Ralph Payne or Paine does have a brother Thomas Payne in the Colonies era of 1640. Notes Several of Michael Johnson descendants deeds are signed by Paine or Paynes and also by known descendants of Ltc. Richard Cocke era of 1630 colonial Virginia (who is married into the Doodes Minor Families and is him self a Ship Owner umm) His off spring are the cousin lines to the Montague and then to General George Washington Henry Rowen lived on Mathews Creek in early Colonial Virginia. Charles City County Land deeds, this land goes into Nansemond County Va. in 1650 era. His neighbor is William Eaton. The Eatons are married into the Terisha Johnston lines of Humphreys and Dickson Co. Tn. and also to the Randolph descendants and Robinson or Robertson Lines, along with the Turners all neighbors to and near Hudson Johnson who is a whiskey maker LOL who migranted from Williamson Co. Tn in 1803, it appears he left about 1800 from Hawkins Co. Tn. ( notes Hatcher and Murrell familes are well documented in Williamson Co. Tn History) Rev. Thomas Murrell went to Williamson Co Tn and then into Dickson Co. Tn. where he died. His son was the administrator to Agness- Agnis Johnston's will I am currently making a known travel pattern of the General James Randolph Robertons, family lines that lived on Bartons Creek beside my Hudson Johnston. I am documenting all his families neighbors since 1630 era of his Fore father Nicholas Robinson and following the Robinson lines and neighbors forward in time. Several Notes of Interest are made in this report. as John Robinson father of General James Randolph lived by a ??? Family that were neighbors to a Curtis Family in NC. The recent DNA on this group of Curtis's is a match to those of Eli Thomas Curtis of Humphreys Co. Tn. who I also descend from. Also of Note Chamberlian Hudson of Dickson- Humphreys and Benton County is a neighbor to either the Eatons and or John Robinson of NC in this report. Notes: John Robinson father of General James Robertson sold his lands on Nut bush Creek in Va. and on NC to John Johnson. These lands on Nutbush Creek are sold in 1790 era in Warren County and Mecklenburg Co. by Stephen Johnson, Terisha Johnson and John Johnson. Terisha Johnson familes are well tied to the Eaton and Turner Families. Terisha Turners Grandson is in Humphreys Co. Tn. Notes James Randolph Robertson is a William Hatcher b 1613 Descendant. Well I too am a William Hatcher born 1613 Descendant. Now William Hatcher sold his headrights on an adjacent Creek to Mathews Creek in 1630 Era to a Redford, also known as Radford in these deeds. This Radford is the neighbor of the neighbor of William Eaton. era of 1650 Now Edward Hatcher Jr. son of Edward Hatcher Jr. who is the Grandson of William Hatcher b 1613 is the neighobr of one Michael Johnson of Tuckahoe Creek in 1704 era Now add to this mix Tappy Hudson of Dickson Co. and General James Randolph Robertson, who are off the Lines off William Hatcher b 1613. General James Randolph Robertson owned the Furnace in Dickson Co. Tn on Bartons Creek which he bought from Montgomery Bell. um who never married but was with another one of my Grand mothers Maternal Lines. Hudson Johson came into the area of Washington Co. NC which when Tn became a State became Sullivan then Green Co. Tn before it was Hawkins Co. Tn. He came there with the Rev. Thomas Murrell who had married the Widow of James Johnson of Henry County Va. he lived by a Bartlett Simms and a James bartlett Simms whose lines are also by Terisha Johnston of Nutbush Creek, and are associated with the lines of Colonel Richard Johnson era of 1650 Colonial Virginia. whose son WIlliam and Richard owned properties that co into Orange County to Spotsylvania Co. Va Note of Interest and there is a ??? river ( landing) between William Johnson's plantation and that of the Washington Plantation. The Decendants of Richard Johnson are later married to the descedants of Doodes Minor and Mary Guerant Johnson. Catherine Washington I think is this descendant. Rev Thomas Murrell's family is from one Thomas Murrell of Byrd Creek and Beaver Dam Creek of 1720 Era of Va.. Well Michael Johnson's sons own land on Byrd Creek in 1720 era. Notes; Beaver Dam Creek is also the home of another line of Descendants that I decend from Doodes Minor ( Ship Owner from Holland 1650 era) he is married to Mary Guerrant Johnson. Their descendants comes into Dickson and Humphreys County Tn. This is the fore father line of General George Washington. Our Forefathe on this lines is Peter Montague whose lands are in the Pagan Creek Settlement, which contained the lands of William Johnson whose descedants are Daniel Johnson era of 1730 Henrico Co. and possible Stephen Johnson of Rockfish Creek. Two of the Off Spring of Dr. John Lawson and his wife Rowland are the neighbors of Christopher Robinson the Grandfather of General James Randolph Robertons. Jonas Lawson of Byrd Creek in 1720 descends from this Dr. John Lawson who founded the Pagan Cree Settlement with the Bennett Families. Jonas Lawson of Byrd Creek his family can be traced to Henry Co Va. and then in Hawkins Co. And sent him your letter about the creeks, etc. Don't know if he will shut me down because I told him about this DNA test and that I would pay for it. Did you have it done because I really need to know that? Did you get anything from all that material I sent to you? Linda(Johnson)Griffin -------Original Message------- From: Tony Johnson<mailto:[email protected]> Date: 06/01/06 12:21:01 To: Linda Griffin<mailto:[email protected]> Subject: Re: Re: DNA Johnson info This would prove a match to other researchers that are working on earlie Johnson- Johnston- Jonson- Johnstone lines. It will give you clues on where to look for you lines. A Direct match to an ealrier Johnson line will mean you descend from this same Line of Johnson,s which mean's you would need to follow there descendant charts to find out which Johnson you could take off From on there direct lines. this will also add more researchers looking at your lines to see where and how your lines match into their lines. More people looking the more clues that come into your research. The neighbors around your Johnson's in Bradley County Tn are your biggest clues to look at. Who registered deeds on the same day at the Court house. as this is who your Johnson Lines traveled to Bradley County With. Have these people been researched. Do you know the exact name of the Creek your family had deed on in Bradley County, what are the parrent Counties of Bradley, who was first on this creek in these COunties, as FAMILY followed Family to new lands, one would go and establish a foot hold, ( Cabin etc) then the others would follow with cattle, and lives tock, then the women would follow about 3 t 5 years later. They traveled together for protections and new where they were going to. They didn't just pack up and move like we do today. A move took at least 3 to 5 years to get the families there. Now in seeing the Larkin Johnson names this is a name widely associated with the Descendants of Michael Johnson died 1718 on Tuckahoe Creek in Henrico Co. Va. Micheal Johnson is a matching DNA to my own off Hudson Johnson- Johnston of Henry Co. Va. in 1778-1780. We are one marked off in a 25 marked test so this means we have a 40 to 80 year gap some where in our Lines off Michael Johnson. Now to Michael Johnson he lived by 7 of my known Grand father Lines that came into Dickson and Humphreys County Tn. Hudson Johnson- Johnston died in 1828 on Bartons Creek in Dickson County Tn. again showing his neighbors as those of my other 7 lines that I descend from. 4 of these ines on the streams of Tuckahoe Creek have inter married for over 400 years. and are still marrying each other in Dickson and Humphreys County LOL Tony ----- Original Message ----- From: Linda Griffin<mailto:[email protected]> To: Tony Johnson<mailto:[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, May 30, 2006 12:44 AM Subject: Re: Re: DNA Johnson info Tony, I am very intrigued by all of the information you have gathered together. In my line which only comes for sure from Daniel born ABT. 1815 in NC and his brother Joel born in 1814 and not for sure he was born in NC, VA or TN. Have plenty of information and names when these two brothers ended up in McMinn Co. TN. Daniel the oldest married a Margaret J. Brannon..have that on one of their sons death certificates. They had a James, John, Joel, Hugh, Daniel Jr. And a Elizabeth. Then Joel had a wife named Elizabeth Unknown. They had two sons..the first and the oldest was a Larkin Johnson B: Nov. 25. 1841..in McMinn Co., TN. Then Daniel the oldest was married but moved over to Bradley Co., TN ABT 1840. They all lived in Bradley Co., TN until they died except one of their sons named Joel Erie Johnson B: June, 1847. Then he sold land in 1868 and I have that persons name. Then he and Isabelle Triplett moved to McMinn and stayed there. They raised four of their gr! andchildren from 8,6,4, and 14 Mo. And the 6 year old was my grandfather. Then all of Joel and Elizabeth's children were born in McMinn Co., TN. And they moved over to Bradley Co. About 1850. On the census reports they do list and older Joel who could have been these two brothers father..because they were teenagers then. One Question for you Tony? If I can talk this John Henry Johnson into having this DNA test done..he is 76..what would this Prove? Because I would pay for it if we could come up with the names of Daniel and Joel for sure???? Otherwise I cannot do that to him. He lives on all this Historic land there in Bradley Co. And on Johnson Rd. To boot. In the Book 'History of the Rebellion in Bradley County, East Tennessee' it mention several of these and other Johnson's names. It even has my Joel Erie Johnson born in 1847 in it as rebels. So I know that the government was giving out land grants then in Bradley Co. And that's why they moved over there. They also gave some out in McMinn Co. To the older Joel and I think to an older than Joel ..a Daniel. They were not related to a William Johnson in McMinn Co. Or in Brandley Co.TN this John Henry Johnson told me. He checked it out..he thought they were but it wasn't true. Now I have all the chirldren's names and the Jo! hnson's up to my father's family in McMinn Co. We just cannot figure out where they came from in NC or the parents. I will help you all I can but I am limited to living in CA and the oldest granddaughter of my clan back there. My father was the only one to head west in the early 19 39's. Sure don't know if I've help you any or not Tony because I know nothing about the creeks you talk about but I'm sure we came from William and Elizabeth Hutheson or William and Sarah . Will be anxiouly awaiting your reply. Todd and I are related we are pretty sure. You might fall back and ask another Older Male Member to take the test. The 25 marker is the better of the two tests to take I thnk they now have a 37 marker test. I have already tested and my markers on a 25 match the researchers of Michal Johnson died 1718 on Tuckahoe Creek. Now to note Daniel Johnson is one creek over from Michal Johnson on Shockoe Creek.. I am sending you information on Charlotte County Johnson, where Elizabeth Hutchenson lived with her Husband William Johnson Now also Note that Elizabeth HUtchenson's brother James Hutchesnson is selling lands on Saylors Creek to Charles Johnson of St. Pauls Parish this land is on Saylors Creek in Amelia County, where we also Find Gideon Johnson and his Brother Jessee. This is the lines of Mary Holland Researcher. I believe this Daniel on Shockoe Creek is the Son of William Johnson of Middlesex County Va. which I also Believe goes back To William Johnson of 1630 off Pagan Creek Settlement. Please pass along this information as I couldn't cut and passte the e-mail addy We also now know from DNA that Joel and Daniel are also repeating names in another Johnson researcher of Wake County NC that is also in parts of Johnston Co. when it was formed. Tony
