This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: TUCKER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BAC.2ACE/1384 Message Board Post: I'm having trouble figuring out parents or siblings of my gggrandfather, Charles Tucker, who died in Amherst in 1846, leaving behind a widow, Adaline Plunkett Tucker, and five children under the age of 14, including my ggrandfather, James William Tucker. In the 1850 census, his widow was shown still living in the Temperance district of Amherst, surrounded by William and Ann Tucker; Wyatt Tucker; and Edmond P. Tucker. Nearby were the Higginbothams, including Absalom Jr.'s wife, who was formerly Elizabeth Tucker. I assume that William, Wyatt and Edmond were related to Charles but cannot prove that. And there were several Williams, Wyatts and Charles around!! Anyone who can help shed light on this, please!
I also am having trouble finding Amherst Co. VA Tucker family m. into Gregory family Sallie (Sarah) Tucker m. to John Gregory before 1771 with 10 children(seven sons and three daughters) including John Gregory. Sallie (Sarah) died about 1802 and John Gregory died 1800 and "were buried 4 or 5 miles south of the Nelson Court House" The above is the only information I have on this family. Would love to have more information on them.
