Does anyone on this list have access to early Amherst marriage records? I am researching Nicholas CRESS who married Elizabeth Summers (or Somers) in the period 1784 to 1788. He lived in adjacent Rockbridge County and obtained property in Amherst Co. in 1795. I have looked for his marriage in Rockbridge & Augusta counties and did not find it. I do not have access to Amherst Co. marriage records. I would be obliged if someone on this list could check for his marriage. Thanks!
