I am researching Lankford's from the Virginia area. Facts: Marriage of B. Murrell 27 Feb 1809 to Edward Lunkford(should be Lankford), Nelson County. They were in the Amherst then Nelson county census than showed up in Indiana census in 1840. I know little about her except on her tombstone she is listed as Elizabeth. She died in 1847 and judging from the dates on her stone ? she would have been born 20 Aug 1776. I know they left Virginia in Nov. of 1837 going to Indiana with family, friends and classmates of one of her sons. He bought land in Vigo County Indiana. It is right across the line from Edgar county and I find a Cornelius Murrell there in 1850. He was in his latter years 78 and living with him was Polly Ingles 45. Elizabeth and Edward named their oldest son Cornelius M and the second son William M. for three generations the M was carried as a second name. Murrell? Maybe brother to Elizabeth? His estimated birth date would be abt 1772. I have never found a reference to the M. as Murrell or anything else in any legal documents. They list Buckingham Va as birthplace. That is about all I can find about her or him. MaryAnn in Florida Researching Lankford, Sterling, Newby and related families. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
