Hello, Thanks to a kind fellow reseacher of the Taliaferro family, I will now set forth a report about my own ancestor, and her ancestry. I am Lilly Martin, d/o Joe, s/o Etta, d/o Susie Jane Campbell, d/o Nancy Jane Campbell, d/o Behethland Thompson, d/o Elizabeth Stevens, d/o Behethland Taliaferro, d/o Captain Richard Taliaferro, s/o Lt. John Taliaferro, the Ranger, s/o Robert Taliaferro , the Immigrant, s/o Francis. Behethland Taliaferro was born 5-20-1738 Caroline Co., VA. She died 4-4-1828 Nelson Co VA, she married in 1758 in Caroline Co VA to James Stevens, Sr born about 1735 St. Mary's Parish, Caroline Co., VA, s/o John , s/o James, he died 11-22-1813 Nelson Co VA. Behethland Taliaferro was daughter of Captain Richard Taliaferro born about 1703, who on 9-27-1748 died while crossing the Potomac River. He owned about 10,000 acres of land in Amherst Co VA. He was married to Rose Berryman, and she raised all her children after she was widowed. Capt. Richard Taliaferro was s/o John Taliaferro, who was a Lt. of the York County VA Rangers about 1692, and was fighting Indians. He was born 1656 and died 1720, and was married to Sarah Smith in 1682. John Taliaferro was s/o Robert Taliaferro, the immigrant to America, who arrived in York, VA by 1647, he was born 11-11-1626 in England, he died 1677 or prior probably in Glouchester Co VA, he married about 1653 to Catherine Deadman, d/o Henry. He owned land in Glouchester Co VA by 1655. Robert Taliaferro was s/o FRancis Taliaferro who was baptised 1-25-1589/90 at St. Olave' Church, Hart street, London, England. He married Bennett Haie. FRancis Taliaferro was son of Bartholomew Taliaferro, aka Tallafer, whomarried Joane Lane. He was made resident of London in March 1562, he was a resident of London March 4, 1562, he was a former subject of the Duke of Venice. He married 1-1-1583/4 at St. Michael's, Cornhill, London, he died about 9-22-1601, buried at St. Olave's, Hart st., London, England.
