I'd be glad to update your data for my Hudson ancestors, as far as I am aware of, with most of my sources being Tara Painter and Richard Heckelsberg. I'll use TP to quote Tara & RH to quote Richard. They both have backed up their info with various documents, but like most official documentation. much of the information given is conflicting. So here goes: Jacob Hudson: dob- about 1790 (both TP & RH), plob: in MD or OH(TP) spouse: Ruth Whitecotton (both) dob: 12 Sep 1793, plob: TN (both) or VA (TP) censuses for 1 child states TN while 3 other children state VA. They had: 1. Sampson B.S. Hudson dob: abt. 1818 in OH 2. an unknown son born between 1821-1825 3. Dunlap Hudson dob: abt 1826 probably in IN 4. George W. Hudson b. 28 Mar 1828 (TP) or 31 Mar 1828 (RH) in Marion CO, IN George later changed his middle initial to R. 5. Martha E. Hudson b. abt. 1830 in IN 6. Mary W. Hudson b. Apr 1830 in IN 7. Emerine Hudson b. abt. 1832 in IN 8. Theodore W. Hudson b. FEB 1834 in IN All the above info comes from Tara Painter and her various sources. George W./R. Hudson married Sarah Kennedy(b. betw. 1830-1835), daughter of Thomas Kennedy on 17 OCT 1849 in Greenfield, Hancock Co, IN. They had a son, James Riley Hudson b. 15 May 1849 in Greenfield, Hancock Co., IN. Sarah died on 11 AUG 1850 in Greenfield, Hancock Co., IN. George then married Elendar "Nellie" Carr (b. 7 DEC 1834 in Greenfield, Hancock Co. IN). DoM: 08 MAR 1851 in Hancock Co. IN. They had: 1) Mary Ellender Hudson b. 25 May 1854 in Greenfield, Hancock Co, IN 2) George William "Will" Hudson b. FEB 1857 in Greenfield, IN 3) Rosina"Rosa" Hudson b. FEB 1860 in Greenfield, IN 4) Sampson Benonine Hudson b. 17 MAR 1862 in Greenfield, IN 5) Madison Monroe "Roy" Hudson b. JUN 1868 in IN 6) Sarah Emma M. "Emma" Hudson b. FEB 1872 in Brazil, Clay Co., IN all the above info comes from Tara Painter's resources I have done some research of my own & can provide some more info on some of the above, such as Rosina. George died either 22 DEC 1888 (TP) or 23 DEC 1888 (RH) in Montgomery City, Montgomery CO, MO & is buried in a cemetary there. Elendar died 14 OCT 1907 in Brazil, Clay Co. IN & is buried in the Baptist Moses cemetery in Seelyville, Vigo Co., IN. Sampson Benonine Hudson married Augusta M. Hoselton abt 1885 (according to 1900 Nevins census, which has some errors in it, such as having Orbie listed as a son). There's a conflict of information regarding Augusta & her ancestry. Tara's sources say that her name was Mary Augustine "Augusta" Hoselton, b. JAN 1869 in Benton City, Scott Co., MO. She has Augusta's parents as Arthur Hoselton and Florence Cather. Richard has her as being Augusta Mary Hoselton, b. 10 Jan 1869 in Benton City, Scott Co., MO with her parents being Amos Hoselton and Isabella Shrout. Another relative says her name was Augusta Goforth. Her gravestone says her name is Augusta M. Hudson 1870-1907. Sampson, Augusta, Elendar and an "Elva" Hudson are buried together in Baptist Moses Cemetery, in Seelyville, Vigo Co. , IN (between Terre Haute & Brazil). Sampson & Augusta had: 1) Hershel Hudson, b. abt. 1885. died abt 1887 (RH) Tara doesn't mention him in her reports. 2) James "Jim" Hudson b. APR 1886 In IN (TP) James Robert "Ramblin Bob" Hudson b. 01 APR 1886(RH) 3) Frank Edward Hudson b. 29 AUG 1888 in Clinton, Vermillion CO., IN died: on 09 DEC 1966 in Brazil, Clay Co. IN. He is buried in Cottage HIll Cemetery, with his wife, Lelia Stonebreaker (has also been spelled Stonebraker and was b 28 MAY 1890) who died on 16 JAN 1975 in Terre Haute, IN. The cemetery is located just outside of Brazil, Clay Co. IN. There are also 2 Carrs buried next to them. (Death Certificates & personal visit to their graves) (4) Corda "Cordie" Hudson b. 11 SEP 1890 in MO(1889 according to 1900 Nevins TWP, Vigo Co. IN census). died 15 DEC 1977 (RH) Was also known as Corda Lucille Hudson 5) Sampson Monroe "Bo" Hudson, AKA Paul M. Hudson (RH) b. DEC 1891(& TP) according to 1900 census, but the same census has his age as being 2- so he must have been born in 1897. I noted that there were alot of errors regarding the ages of the family, mostly a year off. 6) Orbie Brigette Hudson b. 17 APR 1892 in Black Walnut, IL, died 16 DEC 1936 in St. Louis,IL (?) buried in Roselawn Memorial Park, Terre Haute, IN 7) Ruberta Albertius Hudson b. 15 JUN 1894 in Emmis, MO, died 21 SEP 1971 in Terre Haute, Vigo Co. IN Note that Tara has her name as Roberta Hudson. 8) Leona Katherine Hudson (RH) b. FEB 1900(re 1900 Nevins TWP, Vigo Co. IN census ) in Vigo Co. IN (TP) My father told me that none of the girls were given middle names at birth, so they each made up their own middle names. I have most of the information on descendants for each of these children, some verified, some not so verified. I am descended from Frank Edward Hudson. Him & his wife, Lelia Stonebreaker had 3 living children: Murl (Meale on b.c.), my father, Frank E. Jr. , and Lillian. I will give you more info on that part of the family later, if you wish.
