The Confederate Symbol has been a part of Amherst Idenity for 140 years, JUST leave well enough alone. I have a Grand Father with a C. S. A. Head stone & a 2nd GRT Grand Father with a C. S. A . Veteran Grave marker. I am proud of those Ancestors, But I would not dare reveal their location as Some mis guided NIT WIT , would want to desecrate their Resting place. I am not a Member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, but I believe that they have the same right to honor, OUR ancestors as ANY ONE else & if a symbol of our Heritage has been a part of the County Flag for 140 Years, NOW; just maybe there is enough people that you have branded as NO ONE, too remember.
