HI Chuck FGS is the FLorida Genealogical Conf that was held there at the Marriott just past the Navy Personnal Office up there. I have fogotten the road but the hotel area was nice. I did 4 years Air Force(Mil) and 36 years Navy(Civ) all here at Cape Canaveral. Re your visit to the courthouse in Amherst. There is always discussions on the list about how to get along etc with the folks in the courthouse. My wife and I have taken the tact that better to work with than expect. We have found some very old documents on her family down at Farmville in the courthouse so we have worked with the clerk and the archivist(spelling?) at the Library of Virginia and got the approved archival sleeves to hold documents. We now take those with us and with the clerks permission when we find some of our family history in old documents we place them in the sleeves and back in the files to protect them for our kids. This seem to make more sense than taking candy and oranges. Have a great trip Doug
