    3. Helen, I recently published a 495-page book that covers the Jones (extensively) and Hunter families. It also tells the story from newspaper accounts of the murder of John Franklin Wood by pistol shot in April 1825 by his father-in-law, Major Thomas Jones. John's widow, Martha Jane Jones (1801-1869) married second Patterson Jennings on April 17, 1826. They were a Campbell County (VA) family. The title of my book is Waltons of Old Virginia and Sketches of Families in Central Virginia. There are chapters on Booker, Christian, Coleman, Davis, Fields, Guthrie, Harris, Harrison, Harvey, Hunter, Jones, Shepherd, Stratton, Vawter, Walker, Walton, Williamson and Word. More than 600 different surnames are in the index. You may order directly from me. For further information on ordering, please contact me privately. Wilmer L. Would like to find family books on the above families, I just purchased "Fondest Memories" a well written book by Velma Mays White for $35. I will use for reference as time goes by. Haven't found a kin in it yet but who knows what tomorrow will bring? Many thanks in advance.
