    3. "The General William R. Terry chapter the United Daughters of the Confederacy in Bedford, is pleased to announce an encampment on Saturday April 14 and Sunday April 15, from 10 AM to 5 PM, located at 1230 Oakwood St. in Bedford. This free event will be held in conjunction with a Historic Highway Marker dedication on Sunday April 15, at 2 PM, for "Oakwood" and for State Senator and Confederate General William R Terry. Oakwood, the American Revolutionary Era house, will come alive with re-eneactors from the American Revolution and the Civil War Era including Generals Robert E. Lee, William R. Terry both days and General Jubal Early just on Sunday. There will also be dancers will be on hand to teach period dancing, and live bluegrass music. The owner of the home, has been most gracious in the planning of this event, and will have his house, the former home of Captain William Terry of the American Revolution and childhood home of former State Senator and Brigadier - General William Richard Terry of the Confederate Army, open on Saturday the 14th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m and Sunday before and after the marker dedication. The encampment and marker dedication are thanks to the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, and our great sponsors: Bedford Museum & Genealogical Library, Bedford Rifle Grays Sons of Confederate Veterans, Mary Oney Fizer Children of the Confederacy, VMI Alumni Association, and a several private individuals.
