Have long been searching for info on the Ricketts family in Amherst Co. VA. John Henry Ricketts was born in Amherst County Courthouse, VA in 1839. He was the son of John W. Ricketts and Sarah Steward. I can not find any trace of him or the family until he shows up in the 1860 census in Smyth Co. VA. Any info or help would be greatly appreciated!
