My Amherst roots can be traced back to Charles BIBB and Elizabeth GATEWOOD. They left Amherst and came to what is now Fayette County, WV and settled in a small community which to this day is called "Gatewood" after Elizabeth. Elizabeth and Charles raised a large family who included Sarah Bibb who married William Dabney Thurmond of the infamous 'Thurmond's Rangers' of Civil War fame, Martin Bibb, who was a famous preacher in these parts and my second great grandmotherz9paternal), Jeannette Bibb who married Marshall McClung of the Greenbrier McClungs. Another Bibb of Amherst, Levi married Lucy Clements and their daughter, Nancy married Wiliam Treadway making her my 2nd great grandmother (maternal). What I would like to know is, what is the relaionship between Charles and Levi and who were their parents? Thanks, Anita
