My mother, Helen L. Taylor was born in Amherst Co., VA, the daughter of William Berkley and Nettie B. Williams Taylor and one of nine children.? We just lost the last two of her Taylor siblings in the past two months;?William B. Taylor, Jr. who ?lived in the Town of Amherst and?Nettie B. Taylor Harris who lived?in Allens Creek, Amherst Co.?? I have documented back to my (3) great grandfather, Thomas Taylor, living in Nelson Co, in 1820.? There were only two Taylor's in the 1810 Nelson Co. census and I feel they may have come from Amherst Co. since Nelson was formed in 1807 from Amherst Co.?(Benjamin Taylor (45+) was married with a family and the other Taylor was too young and living alone). Any suggestions? Carol, my husband's grandmother was born Nettie Arizona WILLIAMS in far Southwest Virginia in 1896. The name of your grandmother jumped out of your message, and I was wondering if the name Nettie might be a family name among your WILLIAMSes, or is this just a coincidence?
