Virginia, she is almost certainly one of my related Smoots (almost all of them were Maryland, then Texas). Only problem is I just moved on the weekend, and I don't see my Smoot file amongst the chaos. But if you will email me direct: jjtsii@yahoo.ca I can give you the email for the cousin in Virginia who did most of the research.
