John Addison Smith b.1810 or b.1808 by mid 1820s went to Todd Co Kentucky til 1830s then Tazewell co ILL til his death in 1844. He married a Cyntha Floyd also born Virginia. Profession farmer but siblings joined military. At least 9 Smith and Kemp relatives at Battle of Shiloh. GG grandfather Doc John Grigg Higgins Smith b.sept.1810-1857 Believe he spent time in Breckenridge Co KY before Macon Co Illinois. He is listed also as farmer -but referred to himself in doctor in 1850s Still havent ruled out that these 2 individuals were twins both have same date on grave markers. Im curious what may have made them move from Virginia Played out land? Washington's tax on making whiskey? All great to ponder.
