My father's mother was a Massie from Nelson County. Her father was William Lee Massie who married Emma Lina Fitzgerald. His father was James Bradley Massie who married Merciful Campbell. James father was Zachary Massie. "Lina" was the daughter of Landon Fitzgerald (1853-1889) and Sarah Fitzgerald and Landon was the son of Jonathan Fitzgerald and Sarah "Polly" Fitzgerald. Yes, both Lina's mother and grandmother were Fitzgeralds by birth. I have never been able to find a relationship between the two families. William Lina moved back and forth between Amherst and Fayette Counties several times. The William was struck and killed by a car and Lina settled in Fayette County, WV.
