    1. [VAAMHERS] VAUGHAN family in Amherst Co
    2. David Hoffman
    3. My Amherst VAUGHAN connection begins with George VAUGHAN (1772-1846) who came from Culpeper Co to Amherst in the 1790s. He married (1) Sukey LOVING (2) Alice EDMUNDS. He moved with 2nd wife and family to Pike Co MO in 1831. BAUGHAN as a surname exists in Culpeper, but I've yet to find any connection between the two. Also BAUGHAN is a surname found in Essex Co; several families moved from there to Amherst, but I don't know if BAUGHAN was one of them. David V. This would have been in the 1700's.
