I really don't have any info about Thomas Hill, father of Dabney, except the Family Bible, which was written later than Thomas Hill's time. What makes you think they connect to anyone that was originally in Va.? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I bought the 2006 family tree as a gift for my Father and one for me to help him, his is still in the box. I have untold hours trying to do a family tree on the Lobban Family of Virgina (Nelson, Amherst and Albemarle counties), eveything I have printed for the past two years is in a box, I am trying to file so I can source and time line to fill in the gaps. I started with a hand full of known family to over a 1000 in my family tree. My line starts in Virginia goes to Missori and Texas. Carla Page seems to have a lot on the Lobban's we have surnames in common. Her posts seem right on. William Lobban and Mary Massie children are 1) Charles Lobban b. 15 Nov 1796 2) James Lobban b. 14 Jul 1798 3) Lavinia Nelson Lobban b. 03 Jun 1800 4) Jesse Lobban b. 29 Jun 1803 5) Samuel Lobban b. 05 Nov 1805 6) Sarah Lobban b. 06 Jul 1807 7) Martha J. (Jane I think) Lobban b. 25 Sep 1812 Marries James McCue-has daughter Martha Jane McCue 8) William G. Lobban b. 02 Jul 1815 I don't have source for above, the book "The Garth Family" by Davis (I think) has a Lobban family tree in it with a few mistakes that confuse James and Johns. the first John Lobban in Virginia Marries a Garth so most Lobban's from Viginia share trees with the Garth Family. Please let me Know if anything above is wrong to you. a corrected post is the most important so errors are not spread, Henry Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Jesse Lobban has been a mystery to my family until this summer when I figured out he must be our relative. I am the great-granddaughter of the Zachary Taylor Prewitt and Cora Bell Lobban marriage, (Jesse Rowan Prewitt (1880-1941), Jesse Rowan Prewitt (1923-1998) Margaret E. Prewitt Garls, and I was always curious why we did not have information on Cora and Mary Eliza's family. We knew they were orphans from Mississippi who came to Drew Co. Arkansas. After I found Jesse in the 1850 and 1860 census, i tried to connect him to the Virginia Lobbans, especially the Nelson Co. Lobbans since he married Eliza Page in Nelson Co. I ,too, have spent hours in Ancestry.com and printing out information trying to find clues to his identity and his parents. I am familiar with William and Mary Massie, but never found a link to Jesse. Are you the Lobban with personal family tree? Do you have anymore info on Jesse's life in MS or can you direct me to a source. I know that Martha Bell Lobban is buried in the New Bethlehem cemetery, but find no record for Jesse. Perhaps Jane Garret buried him elsewhere. Also I didn't know I had a great-great uncle, James M. Lobban. We only knew about the two sisters. Thank you again.
