Mayo, III, Clerk Clerk Circuit Court Amherst County, VA - -------------------------- In the name of God, amen, March the twenty sixth eighteen hundred three, I Wm Right Clements of Amherst County, of state of Virginia, being very low [?] in health, and weak of body, but of sound and perfect mind & memory, I thank god for the same, therefore calling to mind and knowing the I and all men are mortal, I therefore ordain this to be, my last Will & Testament, making all others void, that hath heretofore been made. Item: I give & bequeath unto my daughter Joicy Clements[*], one hundred acres of Land, including my dwelling house, & one sorrel horse, & three head of cattle, & one feather bed & furniture, to her & her heirs forever. Item: I give & bequeath unto my daughter Mary Tomblin, one feather bed, furniture, to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give & bequeath to my son James Clements, one feather bed & furniture, to him & his heirs forever. Item: I give & bequeath to my son Frances [sic] Clements, one feather bed & furniture, & three head of cattle, to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give & bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Clements the remainder of my Estate both real & personal, to her during her natural life, & at her deceased, to be equally divided amongst my children, viz [?], Stephen Clements, Wm Clements, James Clements, Jessy Clements, John Clements, Francis Clements, Mary Tomblin, Joice Clements, & one equal moiety [?] to the children of my deceased daughter Elizabeth Roberts.
