Hello everybody, I am assuming that the list just started. I am thrilled my ancestors were some of the first settlers in Amherst County. My great great grandfather was James Stevens Jopling he was born in Amherst in 1777. I have a great deal of information on the Jopling family and would be happy to share it. James Stevens Jopling was the son of Thomas Jopling and Sarah Stevens. Sarah Stevens was the daughter of Madame Behethland Taliaferro and James Stevens Sr. I also have the book on Amherst County in the Revolution and would be happy to look up names in that book if anyone is interested.
