Welcome to the list! My name is Jeannie Watts, and I am the listowner. I'm here to help if I can, so let me know. I hope everyone is as excited as I am about the new lists that I have started. People are still subscribing all the time, but all the new lists have at least 3 users subscribed, most more, so I think it's time to get the ball rolling. So, please, 'step up to the mike', introduce yourself, tell us who you are, why you're here, what you're looking for, etc. Let's see those surnames!!! :) Thanks so much for joining, and if I can be of service, please let me know. Emory and I live in Fairfax, Virginia. My mother was Irene Hampton Bowling, her parents were Thomas Herbert Bowling and Ora Mae Bowling. Thomas was the son of Elijah Daniel Bowling born April 23, 1853 in Nelson County, VA and Ora Mae Bowling was a daughter of Andrew Morgan Bowling born June 1850 in Nelson County, VA, brother of Elijah Daniel. Both Elijah and Andrew's father was Powhatan S. Bowling born 1828 in Nelson County and Mary Susannah W. Massie of Nelson County. Powhatan's father was Thomas H. Bowling/Bolling born in 1800 Amherst or Campbell Country, married to Rhoda Campbell born also 1800. I have been told that Thomas' parents were John and Sarah Bowling/Bolling. I have also been told they live in both Campbell and in Amherst County. I don't know who John's parents were or Sarah's maiden name. I have also been told by a distant cousin that Thomas' brothers and sister were; John D. Bowling/Bolling, William L. Bowling/Bolling, and Susanna Bowling/Bolling Whitten (married a J.W. Whitten). In addition I have been told that John died between 1825 and 1827 and Sarah died between 1837 and 1838. J.W. Whitten handled and paid for the funeral of Sarah and had her belongs moved from Campbell County. I really would like to know more of John and Sarah. Any information would be appreciated. -- Jeannie Watts <madamx@trellis.net> =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= PLEASE SUPPORT THE USGENWEB PROJECT!!!
