Hi Everyone, I am very confused and need help. In my research on my MARTIN line, I have come up with four different pedigrees which list four different fathers for my ggg grandfather James MARTIN born 1730 Albemarle Co. VA or 1730 Edgefield Co. SC. All pedigrees agree on the date of James' marriages to Sarah HARRIS 1765 and his death 1799. Two pedigrees list James'father as James Martin born 1699-Amherst Co. VA-married Elizabeth CRAWFORD 1720. The third pedigree lists father as Thomas Martin born 1715-Albermasrle Co. VA- married Rachel CLARK. The fourth gives Tutchen Martin born 1712 England-married Sarah BENNETT. As for the grandfather of James born 1730, I have Henry Martin born 1672 married Mrs. Ann MARTIN-- Roger Martin born 1639 married Margaret TUTCHEN --Abraham Martin born 1642-45 married Rebecca BELL. If anyone can help me solve this problem of" who is James'father", I will be forever grateful.
