Hi Janet, Thanks for listing the marriage/birth records you found in the Amherst records. I am happy to say that you may have helped solve a mystery for me. In the photocopies of our WHITE family bible there is a reference that reads..."Grandmother was a Miss Hill [Jane Watts Hill Magann] & she doesn't know of but one sister...Uncle Pleasant, [Uncle] John, [Uncle] Joe...brothers of girl...go to see cousin Mary Butterworth...she is Uncle Pleasant's girl" So, is she the daughter of the Pleasant MAGANN who married Nancy WHITE? I have a Pleasant Gaines MAGANN but he was born about 1840 so the dates are off. I have a Mary MAGANN c1839...but her parents are Moses Hall MAGANN and Jane Watts MAGANN. I have a Nancy WHITE who was the daughter of my William WHITE (1788-1843)...don't have any spouse info for her though. Her older brother, Henry White (1822-1891) was appointed her guardian because William died before she was of age...that means she was probably born before 1827...and Henry's second wife was Eliza MAGANN.
