This was new to me. I'm not sure who this William PHELPS was. He could very well be from my line. Thanks for the tip. Would you (or anyone else) happen to know any more about the Capt. James Franklin's company of foot. Or the 10th Virginia Regiment. Where were they assigned? Were all of the men of Amherst Co. assigned to this Regiment, or just a certain area of Amherst Co.? Thanks.
