Powell Bk. 3, Inventory p. 189 July 2, 1790. Looking for information on Elizabeth COX the granddaughter of Anthony STREET. Need names of her parents and was she the Elizabeth COX who married James PEYTON. See Marr Bond: 06 Oct. 1788. James PEYTON and Turner Christian, sureties.? Elizabeth PEYTON, Will Bk, I, Casey Co., Ky. est adm. began 7 Nov. 1828 both adm by Lewis PEYTON, (Lewis Peyton was born in Amherst Co., Va. per tombstone and Hist. of Hancock Co., Ill., 1880. by TH Gregg, Chi. Il. pp. 648-652 where John Peyton, son of Lewis, says that his grandfather, James Peyton married a Miss Cox in Virginia. This James served in the Am. Rev. from Amherst Co., Va. (6th & 10th Va. Regiments) and died in Casey Co., Ky. aged about 50. That Lewis Peyton was born in Amherst Co., Va. Lewis was the second eldest son,who went to Ky., when aged about 16 years of age with his parents, etc. Lewis and his family moved to Wilcox Twp., near Warsaw, Hancock Co., Il. in the spring of 1830. The children of James Peyton completed the sale to Nathaniel Sawyer in 1825 of his Rev. Land Bounty which had been surveyed on Little Miami, Anderson Twp., Hamilton Co., and on Dondaldsons Creek in Monroe Twp., Adams Counties Ohio on Warrant #2297. The children were: 1. Washington PEYTON, 2. Lewis PEYTON, 3.William PEYTON, 4.James PEYTON, 5. Peter PEYTON, 6. Sarah McGLOCKLIN/ McGALEN, late Sally PEYTON, and 7. Elizabeth PEYTON. There may have been another son, a male was seen in the 1810 census, however, he may not have been a child of James and Elizabeth,or have died prior to the sale of the Rev. War land bounty in Ohio. All the children except for Washington Peyton were residents of Casey Co., Ky. in 1824-25. Washington Peyton was a resident of Lawrence Co., Indiana on August 1825 when he signed.
