John TAYLOR Revolutionary vet served from Amherst County emigrated to Washington Co KY. We proved him as a Patriot for DAR about 2 years ago. We have yet to determine his parents, siblings or wives. Am descended from his daughter,Elizabeth "Betsy" who married Cornelius Shewmaker. Cornelius' father, William Shoemaker also served in the Revolution from Amherst Co. Note change in spelling of surname. Spelled Shoemaker while in VA changed to SHEWMAKER after in KY. Descendants still use SHEWMAKER spelling.Any information on this line would be appreciated.
