Good Evening All At the risk of displaying the novice that I am this appears to be an incomplete census. I have a copy of the 1850 US Census for Amherst County and it started with Page No 73 and went to 154B. It was downloaded from rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/va/amherst/census/1850census.txt. Don't know what the difference is. Doug
James, The pages for the Amherst 1850 census are mixed up. I looked at the actual microfilm at the library and the pages are mixed up on the microfilm. If you follow the hosehold numbers you will be able to figure it out. Also Household numbers 637 through 639 on page 117A shoud read 657 through 659. This transcription error is right in the middle of one of my families. On page 78 two members of household 79 are labeled 74.
