Amherst Co. was taken from Albemarle County. Albemarle Co. was created 1744 from Goochland County. If William Hezekiah Davis was born ca. 1720 you might need to look in the Goochland Co. records, also in Albemarle Co. records. I do not know where Masons Depot is, but if it is now in Amherst Co., and Wm. Hezekiah Davis was born there, the county lines might have changed. There are alot of Davis/Davies' listed in the Amherst County deeds, but there is no Hezekiah Davis listed between 1761 to 1807. Betty
