Can anyone tell me who wrote the "notes" that appear on the Amherst Co., marriage record reels? And the story behind them? On several of the entries you will find "see above". Above appears "See (individual's name given) correspondence in Rac Int. File - Amherst Co." What is this "Rac Int File" and what sort of "correspondence" are they referring to? On another I found "NOTE: See old records for another child of (individual's name given) 1894 Registration Colored". Thanks to anyone who understands these notes and can help.
