>From Amherst County Deed Book H, pg 54 Know all men by these presents that I Archelaus Mitchell of the County of Amherst for and in consideration of the sum of One Doller to me in hand paid have bargained & sold unto John B Trent of the same county a Certain Negro boy named Will about thirteen or fourteen years old to have and to hold the Said Negro Will unto him and his heirs or assigns forever and I do by these presents for myself my heris & C the above Said Negro warrent and forever Defend from the claim of all persons whatsoever.
